At Maxvankekeren-IT it is possible to install free SSL certificates. We are of course happy to explain how this works for you!
To activate Let's encrypt you need to go to your DirectAdmin panel. The link to this panel is described in the email you received from us after purchasing a web hosting package!
1. Go to SSL certificates
After you have logged in, select the domain for which you want to activate Let's Encrypt.
Then scroll down a bit until you reach “Advanced Features”.
Then click on “SSL Certificates”.
2. Request a certificate
After you have done that you will come to the SSL certificate page. In the line of each domain you will see an option to request the Let's Encrypt certificate. You can do this by clicking the "Apply" button.
NB!
If you do not point the Nameservers to us, you cannot request a Wildcard certificate.
In this case you can click on the domain name, in the SSL module, to disable Wildcard. Set Wildcard to Off and click Save & Request.
3. Please wait
As soon as you have made the request, the system will work in the background for a while. After about a minute, the status will be different for your domain and SSL certificate.
As soon as you see the above, you will return to the DirectAdmin overview screen.
Now click under “Your Account” on “Domain Setup”.
Then click on the relevant domain where you just created the Let's encrypt certificate.
You will now see two windows. Make sure that the bottom ball (radio button) is selected in the second window. Now click on “Save”. When a message appears after this, click on “OK”.
How do I check my Let's encrypt SSL certificate?
There are some simple tests on the internet that check whether your SSL certificate is properly installed and accessible to everyone. We always recommend the test below, which neatly checks whether everything is correct and shows which data is in your SSL certificate:
